This qualification reflects the trade qualified role of a bricklayer, blocklayer or paver who may have responsibility for undertaking heritage bricklaying, refractory bricklaying, bricklaying, blocklaying and paving work in residential, industrial and commercial contexts, in both existing and new constructions.
The bricklaying, blocklaying and paving industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered and assessed in this context.
Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements vary between states. Relevant state and territory regulatory authorities should be consulted to confirm those requirements.
Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying out construction work. Achievement of CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.

It is essential that international students must exhibit a strong command of the English language. Undertaken one of the following English Language Tests and met the minimum score.
If the student does not have current proof of one of the above listed English Language Tests, they will be required to take an English Placement Test administered by Skills Australia Institute (SAI). The student’s Education Agent can manage the English Proficiency Exam on behalf of SAI.

After successfully completing the CPC33020 Certificate III in Bricklaying and Blocklaying students, will be able to work in the following job roles:
The Work Experience or Vocational Placement component of the qualification is delivered in term 6, 7 and 8 over a 30 weeks period for up to 24 hours per week to meet 720 hours work experience requirement. Work experience can be used to assist students to develop employability skills and an understanding of the work environment, career options and pathways as a positive foundation for their life-long learning.
The Assessment Process is based on the principles of competency-based training. The performance of learners is assessed on their ability to perform the task(s) to industry standards. In order to ensure the principles of validity are upheld variety of learning styles and a range of assessment strategies are used.
Assessment for each unit of competency will be through a combination of classroom based and work placement tasks. Classroom based assessments include but are not limited to:
Students are advised well in advance of the assessment activities and a student may put forward for consideration, any special needs they may have. The assessment criterion is documented in all units and workbooks. Dates of the assessments are provided on the first day of class along with a timetable. Students may be assessed by a combination of continuous assessments and examinations. Continuous assessments may be based on competencies and marks or a combination of both.

I enjoy attending the school, the learning experience is really good. I get to interact with the trainers and people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. I love the school.

In a new country I used to be limited underachieving and to shy to voice my opinions , but they bridged the gap. That's how SAI has really grown my passion in Early Childhood Development. Being an international student is exciting but if I would describe my experience in one word It is life changing studying abroad is quite challenging, it is an experience of a lifetime for me. It is about learning new things, culture and enhanced my skills in cooking. The teachers and staff were very helpful, professional and hands on when it comes to teaching us new skills and knowledge. I can say that studying at SAI allowed me to gain new perspective which would benefit me in the future.
I enrolled Carpentry course at SAI last year July, since that time I feel so grateful to study here. They have really good trainers that you can be a good friends as well. The tools that they have brilliant, they have everything. It helps us along. Never regret to choose SAI to study.
